Exhibit: “Uncle Sam’s New Deal”
March 11 @ 12:00 pm - April 25 @ 5:00 pmFree
During the Great Depression, New Deal programs brought relief to America’s poor and helped stabilize its economy. As the Federal Building for the Upper Midwest, many of the New Deal programs for the state of Minnesota were run out of the offices in Landmark Center. The “Uncle Sam’s New Deal” exhibit illuminates the federal government’s role in reviving Minnesota communities 70 years ago. The exhibit will be on display in Landmark Center’s North Gallery from March 11 – April 25. This exhibit was created in 2011 by Minnesota Landmarks in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society. It was developed with support from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4, 2008.
