Wednesdays in July and August will be a little more melodious at
Landmark
Center
in Downtown St. Paul! Musicians will play over the noon lunch hour in Anita’s Café, located on the south end of Landmark’s lovely cortile. Anita’s Cafe will be filled with strains of solo saxophone, classical piano, jazz vocals, accordion, xylophone, fingerstyle roots guitar and so much more! The café is already a favorite of downtown residents, workers, and visitors, and now each week, over the noon lunch hour, it will come alive with a delightful array of sounds. The series is free and open to the public.

Aug. 6th, Spaghetti Western String Co.
Banjo, guitar, mandolin and more will be featured in this set from Mike Rossetto and Nicholas Lemme of Spaghetti Western String Company. Nicholas is a genre hopping musician who boasts a love of jazz, classical, bluegrass, and rock, and has performed with the prestigious choral group The Dale Warland Singers. Michael is the originator/founding member of Spaghetti Western String Co. and handles the duties of banjo and guitar.

Katie Condon received a Bachelor of Arts in piano performance from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and a Master of Music in musicology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Previous performing experience includes work with the Northwestern Early Music Ensemble, Youth Performance Company, Zenon Dance Company, Landmark Center, and Minnesota Film Arts. In 2001, she was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach in Vienna, Austria. Katie is currently the Director of Community Partnerships at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis and a member of both the piano and Early Childhood Music faculty. In addition to her work at MacPhail, Katie is the narrator and education consultant for the WAMSO/Minnesota Orchestra Kinder Konzert and Target Free Family Concert series at Orchestra Hall. In the summer, she composes music for the Summer Youth Theater in Watertown, MN.

and guitarist James Allen will perform their music, discuss these two artists’ individual styles, and explain the chemistry that made Ella and Joe’s music legendary. James Allen performs regularly with his duo playing jazz and blues, with Cuerda y Madera playing Latin jazz, with Gypsy Mania playing gypsy jazz and freelances.
Vicky
Mountain
has been part of the Twin Cities jazz scene since 1976singing in her own groups and as a freelance performer in concerts, clubs and clinics. From her early years in Top 40 dance bands through later cabaret shows, jazz and blues combos, big bands, and avant garde music, she remains excited by music of all styles.
