DESCRIPTION:KidsJam with Siama’s Congo Roots Trio \nKidsJam workshops are 60-minute interactive sessions for children ages 5-12 to experience musical performances\, get involved through creative activities and movement\, and learn about the people\, cultures\, and sounds behind the music. \nThis month\, experience traditional African instruments\, like the mbira and shekere\, and CREATE your own Congolese shaker! LEARN African songs with layering\, call-and-response and yodeling\, and PLAY rhythms together in a lively atmosphere. LISTEN to stories that bring Siama’s childhood to life and imagine journeying to his rural Congolese homeland. \nSpace and supplies are limited. Advance registration is highly recommended.
