SUMMARY:Exhibit: "Uncle Sam's New Deal"
DESCRIPTION:During the Great Depression\, New Deal programs brought relief to America’s poor and helped stabilize its economy. As the Federal Building for the Upper Midwest\, many of the New Deal programs for the state of Minnesota were run out of the offices in Landmark Center. The “Uncle Sam’s New Deal” exhibit illuminates the federal government’s role in reviving Minnesota communities 70 years ago. The exhibit will be on display in Landmark Center’s North Gallery from March 11 – April 25. This exhibit was created in 2011 by Minnesota Landmarks in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society. It was developed with support from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4\, 2008. \nPhoto: Minnesota Historical Society

DESCRIPTION:The virtual annual St. Patrick’s Day Irish Celebration will present three sets of performances at 8:30 a.m.\, 12:30 p.m.\, and 5:30 p.m. Each set will include Irish music\, Irish dance and Irish theatre. \nThe day will also include a special offering of entertainment for the little ones. The special “Children’s Set\,” is all interactive offerings\, designed to have the wee ones up on their feet and singing and dancing! DESCRIPTION:Access to business financing remains a major constraint for women\, particularly in developing countries. Bridging that financing gap and empowering women entrepreneurs is one key to women realizing their full economic potential. \nThis March we celebrate International Women’s Day with a special presentation honoring women business owners. \nFEATURED SPEAKER: Efe Ukala is the founder of ImpactHER\, an international nonprofit helping African female entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of globally competitive businesses. She will present the results of ImpactHER’s 2020 survey of the effects of Covid-19 on female business owners throughout Africa. In addition\, she will describe specific steps taken by some entrepreneurs who transformed their businesses into stronger\, more resilient enterprises.
