SUMMARY:Landmark Live: The OK Factor
DESCRIPTION:Olivia Diercks and Karla Colahan\, cellist and violinst of the new-classical crossover duo\, The OK Factor\, have one word to describe their musical connection: lucky. Organic and genuine\, their original compositions feel both comfortingly familiar and uniquely fresh\, and have been described as “genre-bending” (Julie Amacher\, MPR) and “pure magic” (Wausau Pilot & Review). The ease with which they write and perform has caught the attention of the Minnesota music community in which they live and work\, bringing them success on stages such as The Cedar Cultural Center and as frequent featured artists with Minnesota Public Radio. Their distinct compositional and performance style awarded them the honor of being finalists for the prestigious McKnight Fellowships for Musicians in 2018. \nIndividual concert tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door (available on Ticketleap) or $70 for full season tickets\, also available on Ticketleap. (Tickets include admission to the cocktail hour from 6:45-7:30 pm.) \n6:45 pm – Cocktail hour // 7:00 pm – seating opens // 7:30 pm – Concert \nLandmark Center presents “Landmark Live” in the beautiful and intimate F.K. SUMMARY:FREE Schubert Club Concert: Selby Brass Band and Thomasina Petrus
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by composer Abbie Betinis\, our popular Courtroom Concerts take place at noon most Thursdays in the Landmark Center in downtown Saint Paul. This series features accomplished musicians and composers from the Twin Cities and surrounding area\, as well as occasional musical newcomers to the area. These one-hour concerts are free and open to the public. \nAbout the Artists:\nThe Selby Avenue Brass Band brings a unique voice to the Minneapolis / St. Paul music scene\, with musical roots from the streets of New Orleans that expand into many other genres. \nThe group is led by Tom Wells\, tubaist\, arranger & composer and music educator in the Twin Cities area. Tom’s compositions and arrangement fuel a band comprised of enthusiastic and experienced musicians (including a Grammy winner). \nI’m Thomasina Petrus\, and I have been so fortunate to portray lead characters on Penumbra\, Park Square\, Mixed Blood\, Illusion\, Guthrie\, Capri and Old Arizona Theatre stages. A true “hometown girl”\, I have cultivated my talents as an actor and jazz vocalist through mentorships and friendships of some of the twin cities most beloved artists. I have performed with/for great artists like James “Cornbread” Harris\, Sr.\, Javetta Steele\, Stokley\, Regina Williams\, Prince\, and of course T. Mycheal Rambo\, Lou Bellamy\, Lewis Whitlock\, and now Marion McClinton. \nInspired to continue creating exceptional music and theatre\, I established my own production company\, Thomasina Productions to produce “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill” by Lanie Robertson\, portraying Billie Holiday’s music and historical legacy. I went on to write my own show “Lady Days” and “Etta…Dreams o Remember\,” a musical/biographical revue of the life of Etta James. \nMy tribute CD “If Only…Billie Unsung” continues to sell locally and worldwide. My Christmas CD “The Perfect Gift…Songs” was also a local best seller in the Twin Cities gift and coffee shops and now I have sweetened my repertoire with my latest trademarked production THOMASINA’S CASHEW BRITTLE and THOMASINA’S APPLE BRITTLE. All are available in the lobby and more information can be found on my websites. I continue to perform live throughout the Twin Cities in local theatres and jazz venues and I’m looking forward to a new Holiday concert production of “Thomasina’s Hot Chocolate”. Please visit Thomasinaproductions.com or Thomasinascashewbrittle.com.

SUMMARY:Music on the Cortile: Nolen Sellwood
DESCRIPTION:Music on the Cortile (previously known as Music from the Porch and Music in the Café) presents live performances by musicians in the picturesque Musser Cortile at Landmark Center. Taking place over four Wednesday lunch hours\, these concerts offer an opportunity to hear talented local musicians. Best of all\, they’re free and open to everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch to enjoy during the concert. \nJune 26: Nolen Sellwood\nAt just 18 years old\, Nolen Sellwood\, from Prior Lake\, Minnesota\, made a remarkable entrance into the music world. Meeting producer John Wright in 2021\, Nolen arrived scruffy and guitar in hand\, eager to share his vision for a short “indie” album. Playing his original tunes\, Sellwood impressed Wright\, who was amazed to learn that Nick Drake heavily influenced him. Now\, Sellwood and his trio\, featuring childhood friends Sam Hovda on Piano and Trumpet and Owen Reinert Nash on Percussion and Bass\, offer a modern take on British Isles folk music. With Nolen leading the way\, they captivate audiences with their somber yet acoustic sound. \nCheck out Nolen’s Emerging Artist Series Duluth performance from January 2024. \nOther Music on the Cortile dates: \n\nJuly 10th: Courtney Burton\nJuly 24th: Clare Doyle\nAugust 7th: Honeybutter
