SUMMARY:"HER FLAG" art project in St. Paul for 100th anniversary of 19th amendment
DESCRIPTION:Join Landmark Center and the League of Women Voters St. Paul to celebrate 100 years of women and voting on Thursday\, September 26 (12pm-1pm)\, featuring Her Flag\, a nationwide collaborative art and travel project celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment and the 72 years-long nonviolent fight that kicked open voting for women in the United States. \nHer Flag is an artist-driven project by Oklahoma-based artist Marilyn Artus\, as she travels the country in advance of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution on August 18th\, 2020. It took 36 states to ratify the amendment into law. She is traveling to each state\, in order of ratification\, over 14 months and collaborating with a woman artist in each state. Each artist has created a stripe to represent her state. Marilyn’s Minnesota-based artist is Anne Ulku\, an independent creative and designer based in Minneapolis/St.Paul. She specializes in many fields including: branding and identities\, art direction\, illustration\, lettering and type design\, logo design\, and art. \nIn each of the 36 capital cities\, including St. Paul\, there will be a public performance where Marilyn will sew the stripe representing the state onto the flag. LWVSP will be registering voters at the event.

SUMMARY:Landmark LIVE: The Small Glories
DESCRIPTION:Roots powerhouse duo The Small Glories are Cara Luft & JD Edwards\, a musical tour-de-force partnership planted on the Canadian Prairies. Thrown together purely by accident for an anniversary show at Winnipeg’s venerable West End Cultural Centre\, The Small Glories could almost make you believe in fate. \nThe material of a Small Glories concert is welcoming in terms of subject\, folk-pop melody and instrumentation — songs of love\, loss\, and environment\, delivered with soaring\, interwoven vocals on various combinations of stomping clawhammer banjo\, guitar and harmonica. \nLandmark Center presents “Landmark LIVE” in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium. Presented with support from the Minnesota Music Coalition\, KFAI Radio\, and the Pioneer Press these concerts begin at 8 pm and are preceded by a cocktail hour at 7 pm\, giving audiences an opportunity to enjoy complimentary refreshments and a cash bar. \nTickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door and $70 for full season tickets. Tickets include admission to the cocktail hour from 7-8 pm. \nTICKETS \n7pm – Cocktail hour // 7:30 pm – seating opens // 8 pm – Concert
