SUMMARY:Todd Menton Concert - Part of Day of Irish Dance
DESCRIPTION:The Irish Music and Dance Association and Landmark Center present\,  Todd Menton\, live from Landmark Center’s Market Street porch. This concert is part of Day of Irish Dance. \nTodd is a multi-instrumentalist and the lead singer in Boiled in Lead\, a Twin Cities-based punk/folk/world-music band. He has toured extensively with the band\, and is also a solo recording artist for New Folk Records. His music is a combination of original and traditional Irish tunes and songs\, rendered in a unique\, edgy style. The bodhrán and mandolin are featured prominently on his recordings\, and are his two favorite instruments. Todd teaches bodhrán (Irish drum)\, mandolin and pub songs with the Center for Irish Music in St. Paul\, and is a regular favorite performer in the local pubs. \nCOVID-19 precautions will be observed\, please wear a mask and maintain social distance if you choose to attend. SUMMARY:Exhibit: "Uncle Sam's New Deal"
DESCRIPTION:During the Great Depression\, New Deal programs brought relief to America’s poor and helped stabilize its economy. As the Federal Building for the Upper Midwest\, many of the New Deal programs for the state of Minnesota were run out of the offices in Landmark Center. The “Uncle Sam’s New Deal” exhibit illuminates the federal government’s role in reviving Minnesota communities 70 years ago. The exhibit will be on display in Landmark Center’s North Gallery from March 11 – April 25. This exhibit was created in 2011 by Minnesota Landmarks in partnership with the Minnesota Historical Society. It was developed with support from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4\, 2008. \nPhoto: Minnesota Historical Society

SUMMARY:Global Conversations (virtual) - The Coldest War – Great Power Competition in the Arctic
DESCRIPTION:Media reports of rumors that the United States might purchase Greenland from Denmark left many scratching their heads. While any potential deal seems unlikely\, such rumors demonstrate the fluidity of opinion toward the Arctic region. Talk of new policies toward drilling for oil and natural gas\, and concerns over climate and arctic ice melting\, coincide with comparisons between the United States\, Russian\, and Chinese strategies in the Arctic region. What lies ahead for this critical environmental gem? \nJoin a discussion with Heather A. Conley\, Senior Vice President for Europe\, Eurasia\, and the Arctic; and Director\, Europe Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) as she examines the future of the Arctic. \nFree with registration – Register here.

This group has one word to describe their musical connection: lucky.
