SUMMARY:A Day of Peace
DESCRIPTION:The day begins with a special program by Veterans for Peace: chapter 27\, bringing together music\, speakers and a call for peace when VFP-crafted Armistice Bells ring at 11 am on the 11th day of the 11th Month: the exact moment the bells rang out signaling the end of WWI. \nThe program continues on the Musser Cortile\, with a Peace Fair. Over 200 organizations that promote peaceful solutions will have stations throughout. The program continues with Native American Drummers; Prayers for Peace in Four Voices; Music by Larry Long\, Tom LeBlanc and Jacqueline Ultan. This will be followed by story teller Larry Johnson and a second ringing of the VFP Armistice Bells at 2 pm.

See exhibits\, dance performances\, musical performances and children’s activities. \nPart of the Latvia 100 series of events. These events are produced through partnership between Landmark Center\, The Latvian Organization Association of Minnesota\, and The American Latvian Association. Events are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Each event is free and open to the public. “Celebrate Latvia Day” is part of Landmark Center’s “Sundays at Landmark” program series. The series is presented by Landmark Center with support from Ecolab\, Travelers\, Xcel Energy Foundation\, and  Ramsey County.
