SUMMARY:Exhibit - The Saint Paul Bike Classic: A Retrospective of 25 Years of Poster Art
DESCRIPTION:More than a simple ride around town the Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour is a rolling festival of fun featuring live music at every rest stop\, refreshments\, and of course the beautiful parks and historic parkways of Saint Paul. \nFrom August 1 – September 15\, see the promotional art from the past 25 years. This North Gallery exhibit features historic maps and photos\, as well as Classic posters\, ride guides\, T-shirts\, “I Topped Ramsey Hill” buttons and a giant free-standing banner suitable for selfies. Over the years\, Minnesota’s best artists and illustrators — Adam Turman\, Roberta Avidor\, David Mataya\, Stuart Loughridge and Chank Diesel — have created eye-catching designs promoting the ride. \nThis year’s Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour is on September 8. A music-filled ride through Saint Paul unveils the beauty of the Capital City and celebrates our historic neighborhoods. The St. Paul Bike Classic is organized by The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. The poster exhibit is free and open to the public during normal building hours.

DESCRIPTION:Landmark Center’s Vintage Saint Paul Tour returns this summer to take participants on an evening stroll back in time with visits to Candyland and The Original Coney Island Tavern and Café. \nThe tour starts at Landmark Center\, walks through Rice Park\, the Hamm building\, stops at Candyland\, passes Mickey’s Diner\, and ends at The Original Coney Island Tavern and Café. Family-owned since 1920 and open for booking special engagements and open intermittently to the general public\, owner Mary Arvanitis will welcome the Vintage Saint Paul Tour guests with a classic Original Coney Island Dog\, beverage\, and stories from the long history of the beloved Tavern and Cafe where time stands still. \nVintage Saint Paul Tour is Thursday\, August 22*. The tour departs Landmark Center at 6 pm. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased online. Original Coney Island meal\, and Candyland popcorn are included in the ticket price. \n*In the event of severe weather or a heat index of 95 degrees or hotter\, the backup date is Thursday\, August 29.
