SUMMARY:Lock and Dam Community Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning more about the Army Corps of Engineers disposition study and the future of the Twin Cities Locks and Dams? Join the Landmark Center Volunteer Association and the Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) Grassroots Organizing Coordinator Maddie Miller for a community presentation and conversation. The study is examining the future of both the Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock and Dam No. 1 (aka the Ford Dam). The study consists of several different ownership and management scenarios for the structures of the dams; dam removal being the most significant potential option. It’s hard to overstate what a big change this would mean for our river gorge. To help our community prepare for this study\, Friends of the Mississippi River and partners hopes to engage as many people on the issue and to gather community feedback.

DESCRIPTION:Landmark Center presents “Landmark Live” in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium. Presented with support from Minnesota Music Coalition\, KFAI Radio\, and the Pioneer Press these concerts begin at 8 pm and are preceded by a cocktail hour at 7 pm\, giving audiences an opportunity to enjoy complimentary refreshments and a cash bar. \nTickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door and $70 for full season tickets. Tickets include admission to the cocktail hour from 7-8 pm. \n7pm – Cocktail hour // 7:30 pm – seating opens // 8 pm – Concert \n_____ \nTurn Turn Turn is a trio who bonded over their mutual love of close harmony 60s and 70s country\, folk\, and pop music and formed an original Americana band. To create their distinctive sound\, the band “turns” to the distant past of early American recorded music\, “turns” again to that renaissance of the 1960s and 1970s\, and finally “turns” again to the present looking forward. \nMembers Adam Levy (guitar\, vocals)\, Savannah Smith (guitar\, vocals) and Barb Brynstad (bass\, vocals) are all mainstays of the Minnesota music scene and together craft an infectious\, pop-infused Americana. \nPhoto Credit Ilia Stockert
