SUMMARY:"Pure Iowa Water" - A "Pop Art" Exhibition by Christine Curry
DESCRIPTION:PURE IOWA WATER: AN EXHIBITION\nPure Iowa Water Exhibition: Sponsored by LWVSP and coming to the Landmark Center July 26-Aug 4! \n“I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want.”\nAndy Warhol\n \nPURE IOWA WATER ~ POP ART PROJECT is an Andy Warhol-inspired Pop Art project with an environmental message. \nThis project addresses Iowa’s poor water quality problems that plague the entire state and beyond. \nIt is designed to ignite and spark conversation by creating impactful\, oversized 2D and 3D advertising graphics and labels on 16 oz. aluminum cans and a video production that clearly depicts Iowa’s water quality problems by promoting a fictitious sparkling water company that bottles pure water directly from Iowa streams. \nIt showcases champion conservation farmers from each of the represented watersheds to show how land management can be part of the solution. These farmers are doing the right thing for our water\, and they deserve to be recognized and heroized. \n       \nHOW-THE DETAILS…\nThe (fictitious) company\, “PURE IOWA ~ SPARKLING STREAM WATER\,” appears to be a respectable Iowa company\, but the fine print suggests otherwise.
