Dr. Mark Seeley: El Niño Presentation
Join us for a special presentation by Dr. Mark Seeley, sponsored by Landmark Center’s Volunteer Association (LCVA), on Tuesday, November 17, at 11:00 am. Known for his expertise and engaging speaking style, Dr. Seeley will break down El Niño, the weather phenomenon influencing our weather this year, and what it could mean for Minnesota’s winter.
El Niño has been a familiar buzzword in weather forecasts for years, especially as winter approaches. But what does it actually mean for us? And how does global warming factor in, if at all? El Niño influences global weather patterns and often brings warmer-than-normal winters to Minnesota. Historically, 70–80% of El Niño
winters have been milder than average. Dr. Seeley will explain the science behind this phenomenon and what it could mean for our winter ahead.
