David Huckfelt is a folk singer/ lyricist / activist whose in-the-moment performances and songs of no spiritual surrender have earned him a devoted following from small-town opera houses & theaters to national festival stages like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Edmonton and Calgary Folk Fests, and the legendary First Avenue main room in his hometown Minneapolis. An Iowa native, former theology student, and one of the founding frontmen of indie-folk cult favorite bands The Pines, Huckfelt weaves story, song, poetry, grit and grace together with improvisational mastery. With his live shows transcending into unscripted ceremonies of humor, resistance, and beauty, Huckfelt has shared stages with artists as diverse as Mavis Staples, Emmylou Harris, Bon Iver, Gregory Alan Isakov, Trampled By Turtles, Greg Brown, Iris Dement & many more. Along the way, he has emerged as one of the most deeply nuanced songwriters of his generation, with a visionary catalog of songs that are both host & protectors of the heart.
Landmark Center is pleased to bring three talented acts to the stage for the 15th season of Landmark Live, an annual concert series in the heart of downtown St. Paul supported by KFAI and the Pioneer Press. Concerts take place in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium and begin at 7:30 pm. An informal cocktail hour will take place before each show at 6:45 pm. Grab a drink from the cash bar and some snacks before the show!
