Summer Nights in Rice: Moonlight Serenaders of Minnesota

Summer Nights in Rice is a free outdoor summer concert series occurring on select Wednesdays from 5:00pm -7:00pm, June through August. Enjoy food and drink at a local spot, grab a hot dog at Deb’s Hot Dogs or a sandwich from Jenni’s Cafe in the park, and head to Rice Park for FREE live music, community connections, and hot summer night dancing!
The Moonlight Serenaders is a 14-piece band featuring vocalist Lee Engele and an extensive library of arrangements from the 1920’s through today. Originally formed in 1983, the group of musicians met in North Oaks to play selections from the Big Band Era. Although most of the original band members have since retired and the members have changed over time, many of their original arrangements can still be heard when the band performs.

Summer Nights in Rice is presented by Rice Park Association in conjunction with the Twin Cities Mobile Jazz Project, with support from the Saint Paul Cultural STAR Program and program sponsors the Historic Hamm Building, Landmark Center, Landmark Tower Apartments & Sherman Associates, Park Towers Condominium Association, Schubert Club and The Saint Paul Hotel-The Grill.
In case of rain or inclement weather, concerts will be moved into Landmark Center. Restroom facilities for the concerts will be available at Landmark Center throughout the series.
