Richard Cottle: Life in the Abstract Exhibit Opening Reception

Minnesota Landmarks is pleased to present the art of Richard Cottle. Cottle’s works are figure-based abstractions, influenced by the work of Abstract Expressionist Willem de Kooning. Cottle works from black and white figure sketches and, with the addition of a mixture of primary colors (red, yellow and blue), he creates vibrant energetic compositions. In his recent work, he has explored the concept of adding a second or third figure to create a visual and psychological tension between the figures and the viewer.
