Romanian Spring Traditions: Stitches of Love and Folk Music

April 10 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

HORA is happy to present the Romanian Spring Traditions exhibit between March 6th and April 15, 2022. This event will be located in the North Gallery of the Landmark Center, first floor. Visitors will get immersed in various art activities while learning about Romanian culture and traditions. All activities are free and open to the public.

Come see the resilience of the Romanian community who recreated the patterns on their grandmothers’ blouses patterns during the last two years. Learn about the intricate cross-stitch patterns, fabrics and threads from a century ago. Learn the basics of cross-stitching and be creative with thread.

Experience unique Romanian folk music, usually sung around the campfire during warm summer nights, with artist Romell Alaman.

This event is made possible with help from MN Landmarks and Minnesota voters through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
